They needed a brand that expressed the ethos of a restaurant where the experience is about great food, friendly unpretentious service, and a casual, fun setting. We worked with Oregano's to build their brand and create a buzz that was bigger than their marketing budget would have suggested possible.

We developed a non-traditional campaign featuring off-beat slogans tweaked to Oregano's peculiarly engaging sense of humor. The tone carried through into in-store materials as well — real record-album menus, counter cards, wall displays, and menu item names that gave customers a laugh while ordering or waiting for a table. Once they left, billboards and newspaper ads kept the vibe alive.
No time to wait for results.
The campaign stimulated word-of-mouth support that caught on like a hit comedy — people repeating the joke promoted the show. Fresh, gutsy creative generated free public relations when local newspapers used Oregano's slogans as headlines, story quotes, and interview topics with celebrities. In this case, the show was Oregano's. So much so that our young target audience — not exactly known for their patience — suddenly didn't mind the long waits for tables, because of the chance to see and be seen at the hippest joint in town.
